Young Creatives Transforming Kenya's Entertainment Industry

Where entertainment scenes in towns across Kenya were once dominated by live bands and church choirs, a younger generation of DJs, photographers, filmmakers and content creators is expanding what counts as local entertainment.

Many are self-taught, building portfolios through weddings and small local events before picking up bigger corporate and county bookings. Several now shoot and edit their own promotional content — turning what used to require an outside agency into an in-house skill.

The Creative Arts category on the platform exists largely because of this shift — photographers, videographers and designers are now as bookable as musicians and MCs.
